Halloween is fast approaching and slowly but surely the houses in my neighborhood are starting to decorate...Personally, my Halloween style has never been about the gore and super scary aspects, but more fun. I like to decorate mostly for Autumn too, not just Halloween, anyhow, coming across these images from Martha Stewart have inspired my pumpking carving or transforming them into plush velvet lovelies!
On another note, some tragic news has hit....my oldest brothers' cousin, was murdered a few days ago in Oregon and thankfully they caught the two suspects here in California (you may have seen it on the news). Cody Meyers lost his life way too young, he was only 19....Please keep him and his family in prayer....Xoxoxo ~Ashley

Oh those velvety ones.I hae seen them around and about, they are so gorgeous. I so want one. Here we dont celebrate halloween, well the season is kind of imported not native norwegian, just the kids dressing up as trick and treating, buisnisses making money that it. i love decorating for autumn though. I am picking beautiful brances, chesnuts and glossing them with clear nailpilish so they keep their shine, using a lot of dried seedcapsules, it is all so pretty. I did not sow any pumpkins this year but next year I surely will. Anyways I know where to find real ones, the shops have them. Making such pumpkins,, I bet there is a tutorial on you tube. Thank you for the inspiration.I know what to look for in textiles now. Gotta make some.
