What I REALLY, REALLY Want For Christmas...

I have never been one to actually want something for Christmas because I love to give, even as a child, but this year I'm asking Santa for something....I absolutely adore vintage ballerina flats, I prefer worn, used, the real deal. Nothing to me is more feminine and full of strength than a statement of old ballerina flats hanging on the wall....I am just so fascinated with the history, the bliss of these treasures and the people who so gracefully moved in these. My only problem, I have yet to find a pair that I can afford and if I can afford them, they just don't grab my attention...I don't want to settle for something less, especially when it comes to these :) Any ideas from you dear friends?? D.I.Y. Craft.......

I needed a lamp in my bedroom terribly! I of course went to Goodwill to see if I could get lucky and I did :) I found a brass table lamp with a brand new shade for only $4.50 =) As soon as I got home, I went to work right away, I painted the lamp (Driftwood Gray from Martha Stewart) Glued on white feathers (bought at Michaels) to the lamp shade and added some black scalloped ribbon to outline the bottom of the shade. I love how it came out!

Get's me in the Mood.....

I must say, in a strange way, I feel sorta sad because I really think the Holidays are being rushed this year...I absolutely love Christmas and can't wait to start decorating, but where did Thanksgiving go?? I admit I don't decorate for Thanksgiving because the gathering is never held at my home. When I came across these photos (Country Living online), my heart was just a flutter with joy and peace, seeing homes decorated like this just inspires me so.....why not get a head start on Christmas...right?
